Bella the Service Dog Graduates from Shelter to Soldier Program, Sponsored by Logomark
Oceanside, CA (September 15, 2025) - Logomark, a Red Star Sponsor of the Shelter to Soldier program, is proud to celebrate the graduation of Bella, a remarkable rescue pup, from the Wings of Freedom Training Campus in Oceanside, CA. Bella’s journey from rescue to certified psychiatric service dog marks a major milestone, made possible through the support of Logomark’s corporate sponsorship.
Bella, a two-year-old chocolate Labrador mix, was brought to Labs and More with her sister when they were just seven months old. Shelter to Soldier adopted her in February 2024, quickly recognizing that she would be the perfect fit for their service dog training program, and eventually, for a veteran handler in need. After completing the first phase of her training, she met US Navy Veteran Shawn, and the pair were officially matched in April 2024. Bella worked hard to complete her training while forming a deep bond with her new dad through 1:1 handler lessons.
Her journey wasn’t without challenges. Nearing the end of training, Bella tore her CCL (similar to an ACL in humans) and underwent surgery to repair it. As often happens, she later tore the CCL in her opposite knee and required a second surgery to repair it. Throughout her recovery, Shawn visited Bella every week, strengthening their connection and commitment to one another. Six months after her first surgery, Bella returned to training with renewed determination. Together, she and Shawn persevered, completing every required assessment and officially graduating as a team on September 4, 2025.
Michael Bistocchi, Chief Revenue Officer at Logomark, was present at Bella’s graduation ceremony in Oceanside, CA. “Bella’s dedication, resilience, and joyful spirit have been inspiring to watch,” said Bistocchi. “Her journey exemplifies the powerful impact a rescue dog can have on the life of a veteran. We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with her, Shawn and the Shelter to Soldier team.”
